One name, four kinds of cat paw squishy
A cat paw squishy is any squeeze toy shaped like a paw pad with toe beans, but the name hides four different builds: clear jelly, matte foam, a mochi-style bean, and a paw you pour yourself from liquid silicone, which is what most people mean by a taba squishy paw. They feel different, cost different amounts, and the listing words usually tell you which one you are looking at.
We stock fourteen paw items, so this page sorts them by build rather than by colour. Everything below comes from our own listings; we have not measured sizes, and where a listing leaves something out, we say so.
Build 1: the clear jelly paw
This is the paw most shoppers picture: see-through, glossy, with something floating inside. Seven of our paws are this type, and the things inside are how you tell them apart:
- stars and a black satin bow (Clear Cat Squishy Paw With Bow, Transparent Starry Paw, and the $12 Crystal Cat Paw, which adds tiny pearls)
- blue and copper foil flecks (Clear Confetti Cat Paw, listed as jumbo)
- small cherries (Cherry Cat Paw, also jumbo)
- nothing inside, just tinted jelly (Jelly Cat Paw in cyan, Ice Cat Paw in blush pink)
What the listings promise about the squeeze differs more than the looks do. The Clear Paw With Bow, the Starry paw, the Confetti paw and the Cherry paw are all sold as slow rising: you press the toe beans down and the paw fills back out over time. The Cherry listing adds a slow stretch that pulls “like soft taffy”. The Crystal Cat Paw and the two plain tinted paws make no slow-rise claim; the Jelly and Ice listings only say the jelly dents when you pinch it. Do not buy those three expecting a slow rise.
Build 2: the mochi paw
Two listings use the word mochi, and they are not alike.
The Cat Paw Mochi 4 Pack gives you opaque cream, mint, black and pink paws that the listing says feel plush and “slowly spring back into shape”. The Jumbo Clear Cat Paw Mochi is the odd one out: it uses the word mochi but is clear, and its listing talks about a jelly wobble and stretch that settles, not a slow rise. If you want the wobble, pick that one. If you want four small paws to hand around, pick the pack.
Build 3: the matte, opaque paw
These paws are not see-through. The Pink Cat Paw is a small baby-pink one described as “soft foam you can squeeze in one hand”, with pads that dent and come back. The Lavender Cat Paw 2 Pack pairs a frosted solid paw with one that has creamy white toe beans. It is sold as slow rising, and the listing says the paws flatten under your fingers and bounce back, but it does not name the material.
Build 4: the taba squishy paw you pour yourself
Search “taba squishy paw” and you land in a different craft. A taba-style squishy is poured from two-part liquid silicone into a mold and left to cure, so the whole toy is cured silicone. “Taba” is used loosely online for that homemade silicone look; it is not a guarantee of who made a given toy.
We do not sell ready-made silicone paws. What we do sell is the DIY Squishy Making Kit with a mini paw mold. The listing says you mix silicone parts A and B at 1:1, add colour or glow powder, pour into the mold and let it cure. It also includes glitter, flocking powder, cups, sticks and storage bags, plus capybara and bunny molds. The box is listed at about 17.5 × 23.5 × 5.2 cm, with a listed weight of 803 g. The listing asks for gloves and a covered surface, and says younger children should make squishies with an adult.
So the honest answer to “how do you make a cat paw squishy” is: pour silicone into a paw mold. You cannot turn a jelly or foam paw into a taba paw, because the build is different.
Two paws that are not squishies
Our paw search also returns two keychains. The Pink Cat Paw Press Fidget Keychain has raised buttons you press, and the Panda Paw Fidget Keychain has five white pressable pads. Both are press fidgets on a chain, not soft squeeze toys. They sit in our Fidget Keychains collection, not with the squishies.
Price per paw, side by side
| Paw | Build | Price | Per paw |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crystal, Jelly, Ice or Pink Cat Paw | jelly or foam, single | $12.00 for 1, $22.80 for 2, $32.40 for 3 | $12.00 to $10.80 |
| Cat Paw Mochi 4 Pack | mochi | $29.99 | about $7.50 |
| Lavender Cat Paw 2 Pack | opaque, material not stated | $19.99 | about $10.00 |
| Bow, Starry, Confetti, Cherry paws | clear jelly | $17.99 | $17.99 |
| Jumbo Clear Mochi Paw | clear mochi | $17.99 | $17.99 |
| Silicone kit with paw mold | DIY silicone | $29.99 | depends on how many you pour |
The four-pack is the cheapest way to get several paws. The $17.99 jelly paws cost more each but are the ones with the slow rise and the things floating inside. The seven paws priced $17.99 or more (not counting the kit) are also in our Cat Squishy collection, which has 13 products in all; the $12 singles are not.
How to read a paw listing before you buy
- Look for “slow rising” in the listing. If it only says the jelly dents or bounces, do not assume a slow rise.
- See-through usually means jelly; the Jumbo Clear Mochi Paw is the exception. Opaque and matte means foam or a mochi bean.
- “Jumbo” on our paws is a word, not a measurement; none of our paw squishies records inches.
- If you want the hand-poured silicone feel, you are shopping for a mold and silicone, not a finished paw.
