Dog Squishies: Realistic Breeds, Kawaii Pups and a Few Hot Dogs

A realistic gray and black schnauzer dog squishy seen from the front, with two smaller shots of a hand squeezing it

Why a search for “dog squishy” turns up hot dogs

Our shop has 20 listings whose names mention a dog, a puppy or a dog breed. Five of them are hot dogs, and one is a stretchy tangle toy shaped like a puppy. That leaves 14 dog squishies, and they are not one kind of toy.

Whether you call it a dog squishy or a squishy dog, the first decision is the look. Some dog squishies are painted to pass for a real breed at a glance; others are round, blushing cartoon pups. After that come a few that stretch, glitter or stick to windows. This guide sorts all 14 that way, using only what each listing says. We have not measured or timed any of them, and none of the dog listings records a size or weight.

If you did come for the food, the hot dog squishy collection holds all five.

Realistic dogs: painted breeds you can name

Four of our dog squishies aim for realism. Three are described as hand-painted, and all four name a breed or coat:

DogWhat the listing highlightsHow it squeezes, per the listing
Realistic Mini Schnauzerbushy brows, hand-painted detail down to the whiskersslow-rising foam that bounces back
Hand-Painted Schnauzera salt-and-pepper puppy, small enough to crush in one fistsoft and buttery, slowly rises back
Standing Cream Teddy Puppystands tall, caught mid-beg with paws together, fluffy textureslow-rising foam
Cream Frenchiewrinkly, textured skin, detailed face, floppy stancestretches soft and slow

Three of the four describe a slow rise. The Frenchie is the exception: its listing talks about stretch rather than rise, so expect a toy you pull as much as press. The standing teddy is the one built to sit upright on a shelf. All four cost $17.99.

Kawaii pups: round faces and mochi bodies

The other big group is cartoon dogs. Nobody will mistake these for a real pet, and that is the point:

  • Chubby Puppy: a roly-poly puppy whose cheeks squash and slowly spring back.
  • Mochi Dog, Chubby Puppy: stubby-eared; the listing says it oozes back up in slow motion and calls it pocket-sized.
  • Mochi Dog with Blush Cheeks and Bow: flattens like marshmallow and eases back; described as light and pocket-friendly.
  • Corgi Boba Plush: a puppy hugging a bubble tea cup, described as plush, gently weighted and slow-rising.
  • Puppy Face Cake: a round ombre cake, yellow to orange, with a sleepy puppy face.
  • Dog Face Ball: a glossy light-blue dog head with floppy purple ears; the gloss wrinkles when you pinch the cheek.
  • Glasses Dog: a sunny-yellow face with blue-rimmed glasses and a pink tongue, in soft gummy foam that dents in the cheek.

The two mochi dogs are the ones to pick if it has to travel: they are the only single-dog listings that mention a pocket (the gel 3-pack below does too). The Dog Face Ball and Glasses Dog are the budget end at $12.00 each, or $22.80 for two and $32.40 for three. The rest are $17.99.

Stretchy, glittery and sticky: the odd dogs

Three dog squishies don’t fit either group:

  • The Dachshund 2 Pack is a pair of sausage dogs in orange and purple glitter gel that stretch long and snap back. At $19.99 for two, it is about $10 a dog.
  • The Animal Gel Ball 3 Pack has one corgi in it, alongside a cat and a pig. The listing describes gel that slowly puffs back after you squeeze it flat. It costs $22.99 for the three.
  • The Sushi Roll Sticky Puppy is half puppy, half maki roll, with a tacky surface that the listing says clings to windows and desks.

And one puppy that is not a squishy at all: the Stretchy Puppy Tangle Toy is a white puppy on a pink ribbed stretch body, a pull-and-twist toy rather than a squeeze toy.

The breeds people search for, and the ones we stock

We compared the breeds in our dog listings with US Google search data for the same terms. The fit is not neat:

BreedOur dog squishiesSearches a month (12-month average)
Dachshund1 listing, a 2-packabout 470
Corgi2 (the boba corgi, and one dog in the gel 3-pack)about 270
French bulldog1about 130
Schnauzer2about 12

Schnauzers are the breed we stock most and the one people search for least. “Dachshund squishy” is the opposite: it went from about 10 searches in September 2025 to 1,300 in February 2026. Overall, “dog squishy” averaged about 1,490 searches a month over the last year and reached 3,600 in August 2026.

A corgi squishy is the easiest breed to pick up twice: the boba corgi on its own, or one corgi inside the gel 3-pack. If your breed is not in the table, we don’t have a squishy of it yet. The cream teddy is the only other coat any listing names.

Before a real dog meets a dog squishy

These are toys for people. None of our dog squishy listings describes them as pet toys, and a squishy is soft enough for a dog to chew apart. Keep them out of reach of your own dog, and if one does get chewed or swallowed, call your vet rather than waiting to see. Our guide to checking whether a squishy is safe covers the questions to ask about any squishy before it goes to a child.

FAQ

What is the most realistic dog squishy?

Among ours, the four breed dogs: the two schnauzers, the standing cream teddy and the Frenchie. Three of them are described as hand-painted, and the Frenchie as having wrinkly, textured skin.

Do you sell a dachshund squishy?

Yes, one listing: a 2-pack of glitter gel sausage dogs in orange and purple, $19.99 for the pair. They stretch rather than rise slowly.

Are dog squishies slow rising?

Most of ours are. The realistic schnauzers, the standing teddy, the chubby and mochi pups, the corgi boba and the puppy cake all describe a slow rise. The Frenchie and the dachshund pair stretch instead, and the sticky sushi puppy springs straight back.

Are squishies safe for dogs?

We don’t recommend giving any squishy to a dog. They are made as toys for people, and a dog can chew one apart. If your dog swallows a piece, call your vet.
